The 14th Annual Surveyors Historical Society Rendezvous will be held September 16-17, 2010 aboard the Delta Queen Steamboat in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Thursday morning you will learn about 19th century mapping techniques with emphasis on the Civil War. Thursday afternoon will be spent mapping in Coolidge Park utilizing the tools and techniques of that war.
Friday morning, current and former employees of the TVA will share that organization’s contributions to the mapping sciences. Did you know that the standard Quad sheet was developed in Chattanooga?
The afternoon is on your own. The SHS Board of Directors will meet at this time. The Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyors will host a golf tournament at the Jack Nicklaus designed "Bear Trace". SHS will have the swap meet set up, and a number of authors will be conducting book signings.
The event will wrap up Friday evening with the annual SHS Banquet and benefit auction.
