I've talked to him on the phone many times and our survey paths have crossed more than a few times. However, we never got to meet in person. We talked about getting together a bunch but it just never happened. I would have to say we knew each other fairly well.
He lived not far from my place in NC. We knew tons of the same people.
I was wondering about him last week in fact.
