All, Gave my notice earlier this week. I'm leaving Bentley to go back ot surveying full time. Bentley has been good to me, great people to work with but I miss surveying. Relocating to Northern Va. the end of the month to begin working for Bechtel on the Dulles Corrdior Metrorail.
Don't care if it's hot, don't care if it's cold, as long as it's surveying it never gets old!
I'll still be happy to help anyone out if they have any questions relatiing to Bentley products.
Rob M - Surveying, it's not what I do, it's who I am.
Thanks guys. Hopefully I'll still be able to get to a conference or 2, because I've always enjoyed in talking to you and the other folks I've run into.
Congratulations!!! I'm especially glad we got to spend some more time together at the conference. (thanks again for lunch!) Are you going to re-locate officially, or travel for the project?
All, thanks again for your kind words of support and encouragement. To answer some of the questions posed:
1.) I will be working construction, helping to supervise and train ( though I'm sure I'll learn just as much from them if not more, as they will from me) survey crews and techs on a light rail project in the DC area
2.) Hope to be able to get to a conference now and then, though workload as you guys will understand will be heavy. No complaints on that but at the very least I hope to make it to ACSM / ESRI next spring.
3.) I hope to check in here once a day or so, more than likely in the evenings. I'll always be available for questions on any Bentley software as in the past. Who knows, I may have a few of my own on Trimble applications.
4.) Tommy - I'll be getting away from the Yankees I tried to run from 30 years ago. Fortunately I'll be closer to the Good Yankees from the Bronx!
Things are pretty hectic right now trying to get Bentley work cleared up and get ready to move north. As hectic as it is and as hectic as it will get, I'm so excited to be going back to Surveying full time.
