Not a bad day and a bit.

38 hours, 1000km of driving and 37 Scanstation setups. I've just finished the registration and it's a mighty fine looking scan of an open cut mine and pad. :D

Martin, are you finding clients want point clouds, drawings or models?

It depends on the job.
Point clouds very rarely as clients don't yet have the software to handle them.
DTM's, contours and sections are pretty common for mining clients.

Our software toolbox is now pretty complete and we can handle modelling, dtm's meshes, clouds, survey data, etc.

Well, that's a long ride!

Are you used to be surveying in such a large area or does it come with the scan jobs?

It should take me from Belgium to Spain or Poland and I'm sure there are a lot of good surveyors in between.

37 scanstations is a lot, must be a very accidental & hilly terrain I suppose.

Comes with the country I think Christ. The round trip was 1000km, so 500km one way.

We had a lot of stations because the pit is so large our scanner won't get all the way across (only 300m max range)
