Positional Fixing and accuracy for vehicle based systems?

Posted by Paul The Irishman on Aug 26, 2010 6:38 pm

I assume fix is by GPS but how is it fixed? RTK? PPK? What sort of accuracy? Added to that what is the accuracy of the laser setups? How fast can you go etc.? I need to debunk some few myths here as to how highly accurate this system is but I need some facts first. It is a great tool but not for a particular "tool" telling stories about it...

Thanks.

GPS is part of it but inertial positioning is also a key element.

When i looked at scanning I also read literature on mobil xscanning. I understand that there are  firms in business  using  info for rroad design.
