Login - rembering password

I think this has been requested before, but I cant remember the response.
 would it be possible to just log in once and have the site remember your name and password.
It used to be that way on the old board.

I know the board has definitely seen a slowdown since the new format opened, but i still come here often to search the archives.
Maybe i am just too lazy,  I was on here at least 4 times yesterday and did not enjoy having to type in my password each time.
