The Trimble S8 represents the ultimate in functionality for the most demanding of projects requiring, speed, efficiency and accuracy. Available in DR PLUS and DR HP (high precision) EDM versions, for optimizing the instrumentation to the project. DR PLUS version is a video-robotic instrument with exceptional EDM range and 2” angle accuracy. Trimble VISION™ enables total control over instrument pointing - remotely from the controller at the rod. It also enables selection of new targets to be measured with a screen tap. Sophisticated display software shows measurements you’ve made so that you know what you’ve measured … and the photo documentation provides many benefits including providing a site record during survey. Trimble’s SurePoint technology is unmatched in the industry, providing stable pointing to target, correcting the circle readings if instrument moves due to wind, vibration or settlement. The compensation technology’s advanced features include correct representation of the horizontal circle readings as you elevate and depress the telescope, to correctly reflect any mis-leveling or horizontal axis errors. DR HP version is available with 0.5” or 1” angular accuracy, and with a choice of Tracklight, VISION™ (camera), or Long Range FineLock. The DR HP version is ideal for many engineering applications where super-accurate measurements are required including such applications as (automatic) deformation monitoring of structures or land forms. FineLock technology ensures that different prisms located near the line-of-sight to your target aren’t erroneously selected for measurements.
